The Anti-Predatory Lending Database Program: What Attorneys and Closers Need to Know

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Anti-Predatory Lending Database Program, which applies to certain residential property in Cook County, Illinois, has gone into effect. As of July 1, 2008, a Certificate of Compliance or Certificate of Exemption must be attached to the mortgage in order to record any mortgage against qualifying Cook County property. This program reviews the recording procedures and other information attorneys and closers need to know to comply with the new rules. The speakers will cover the following:
  • What the statute involves, recording procedures, and other requirements;
  • When and how to procure a Certificate of Compliance or Certificate of Exemption; and
  • How to use the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation website, including a demonstration of procuring the correct certificate.

The following per person rates apply for this program:
  • $50 | Active ATG member attorneys (*issued and remitted at least one policy during the current year)
  • $25 | Paralegals and staff employed by active ATG member attorneys
  • $95 | Inactive ATG member attorneys and their paralegals and staff; non-member attorneys; others
