Foreclosure Workshop
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Lawyers who handle a substantial number of foreclosures will share their insight into the foreclosure process. In addition, experienced staff from ATG and The Judicial Sales Corporation will discuss how foreclosure property is sold and insured. The program will outline steps you can take to assist clients caught in the current foreclosure juggernaut. Topics include:
- Filing and processing the foreclosure complaint in compliance with Illinois law and its strict time and procedural constraints;
- Understanding the lender's view of the process and goals in a foreclosure proceeding;
- Defending homeowners — useful techniques and strategies;
- Structuring short-sale opportunities;
- Maximizing the homeowner's equity and time in possession of the home; and
- Figuring out the sales process and successfully bidding at a sale.
Foreclosures are on the rise; don’t miss this information-packed program that will help you assist clients who may be headed for foreclosure, or are already in the middle of it.
CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION INFORMATION:
ATG is an Illinois Accredited Continuing Legal Education Provider. This program qualifies for 3.00 hours of MCLE credit in Illinois. We will apply for CLE credit in Wisconsin and Indiana.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
ATG members, non-member attorneys, and paralegals interested in learning the foreclosure process.
NOTE: Hamburger University has a dress code calling for "business casual" attire. Their guidelines suggest collared shirts and slacks (khakis and "Dockers-style" permitted) for gentlemen; blouses, sweaters, skirts, slacks for women (no jeans, no athletic attire or footwear, no shorts).
