ATG and Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) launched the "Fix Your Mortgage" series of events in partnership with the City of Chicago in 2009. At these events, volunteer lawyers and counselors help distressed homeowners determine if they qualify for President Obama's Making Home Affordable (MHA) program. Volunteers then help qualified homeowners assemble and submit their loan modification packages on-site. Representatives from several large lenders are also present to assist homeowners.

 

To date, we've held seven events with more in the works! Our next event is Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Chicago.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | We need English- and Spanish-speaking volunteers to serve as Application Processors, registration assistants, line monitors, and floaters.

 

If you are an attorney, legal support staff, or law student, or have real estate experience, we encourage you to volunteer as an Application Processor. We provide the required loan modification training FREE. The on-line course qualifies for 0.75 MCLE credit and is available 24/7.

 

Volunteers enter a raffle upon arrival: You could win a 40-inch Flat Screen TV!
